Kelowna runs on lake time: morning light on Okanagan Lake, the downtown marina filling by noon, and neighbourhoods from the Mission and Upper Mission to Dilworth Mountain, Glenmore and Rutland where a house is not quite finished without an animal in it. Searches for kittens for sale in Kelowna and British Shorthair kittens in Kelowna bring up listings quickly, but pedigrees, health testing and written protection are another matter. CatKing Cattery raises British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens in Toronto and flies them to Kelowna families who want the documented version of this breed.
CatKing is a TICA, CFA & WCF registered cattery and a legally registered Ontario corporation. Our breeding cats are genetically tested, and our cats earn titles at international shows. Every kitten is raised underfoot, examined twice by our veterinarian, vaccinated with two FVRCP core vaccines and dewormed before travel, and placed with TICA registration, 30 days of pet insurance and lifetime breed-related genetic disease protection. When an Okanagan family compares that file against a casual Kelowna listing, the choice tends to make itself.
British cats are indoor cats, and Kelowna's summers make the arrangement easy to keep: while the town heads for the water, your kitten will claim a cool floor, a shaded window and the household's company, in that order. The breed is calm and companionable, well suited to retirees in the Mission, families in Rutland and professionals working from a Glenmore home office. The Shorthair's plush coat needs a weekly brush; the Longhair's flowing coat takes a few short sessions a week, preferably somewhere with a lake view for both of you.
Kelowna families reserve entirely from home, and we arrange the travel at the end. Here is how the process runs.
Begin with our Available Kittens: if a kitten there is the one, reserve that kitten directly. If none is available, or none is the right fit, join the waitlist for a future litter with a $500 CAD plus tax deposit ($565 CAD); waitlist families choose first from upcoming litters, before kittens are listed publicly.
Photo and video updates follow your kitten from reservation to go-home day. When you choose your kitten, a signed contract and 50 percent deposit hold them, the balance is due on go-home day, and we arrange the flight to Kelowna and coordinate the handover with you.
Start your kitten in one quiet room, litter, the food they know, fresh water and a scratching post, then open the house gradually. Raised underfoot, our kittens arrive comfortable with family life, and Kelowna families generally have a settled kitten within the week. We send the complete veterinary file, and a first visit to your Kelowna veterinarian in the opening weeks keeps everything continuous.
Okanagan summers argue for exactly the cat this is: keep a cool room and fresh water available, play in the cooler hours, and never leave any cat in a parked car. In winter the same cat will choose the sunniest window in the house and watch the lake weather from there.
Golden shaded, blue golden shaded and lilac golden shaded kittens with green eyes are our signature in both coat lengths. Point colour litters add blue-eyed kittens in golden shaded point, blue golden shaded point, lilac golden shaded point and silver shaded point. If your search was cat breeder Kelowna or British Longhair kittens Okanagan, tell us your colour when you join the waitlist and we will watch the litters for you. Kelowna families who plan a season ahead, around a move, a school year or a first summer on the lake, rarely wait long.
Looking for British Shorthair kittens for sale in Kelowna, or a British Longhair kitten in British Columbia? CatKing Cattery delivers across North America — even if your city is not listed in our Location menu, we will arrange your kitten's journey home. Our golden shaded, blue golden shaded, lilac golden shaded and point colour kittens are raised in our Toronto cattery, vet-checked, vaccinated and socialized before go-home day, and families in Kelowna follow their kitten's growth with photo and video updates.
Shipping within Canada is easy, and you have two straightforward options. You are welcome to come and collect your kitten from us in person here in Toronto. Or, if you live further away, we can fly your kitten to you with Air Canada: your kitten travels safely on its own flight, and all you need to do is pick it up at the airport in Kelowna.
Many CatKing families in cities all across Canada have welcomed their kittens home exactly this way, and those flights have gone very well. Whichever option you choose, we walk through the arrangements with you step by step, so go-home day is simply about meeting your kitten.
