British Shorthair Kittens for Sale in Aurora, Ontario

Aurora is a heritage town with its feet in two centuries: the old Church Street school, a Yonge Street spine of century storefronts, and new subdivisions spreading toward the Oak Ridges moraine. Its families keep their animals carefully, and searches for kittens for sale in Aurora and cat breeder Aurora turn up the same frustration as everywhere in York Region: plenty of ads, very few pedigrees. CatKing Cattery raises British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens in Toronto, a straight run south on Highway 404, and Aurora families who find us tend to stay: our graduates live from Bayview Wellington to the Hills of St. Andrew's.

Standards Behind Every Aurora Kitten

CatKing is a TICA, CFA & WCF registered cattery and a legally registered Ontario corporation. Our breeding cats are genetically tested before they ever produce a litter, and our cats compete and title at international shows. Every kitten is examined twice by our veterinarian, vaccinated with two FVRCP core vaccines, dewormed inside and out, and placed with TICA registration, 30 days of pet insurance and lifetime breed-related genetic disease protection. Lifelong consulting comes with it: when you have a question in year nine, we are still a message away.

A Heritage Town, A Heritage Breed

There is a certain fit between Aurora and the British Shorthair, one of the oldest recognized breeds in the world, refined in Britain into the round, plush, unhurried cat people picture today. British cats are indoor cats with an old-fashioned sense of home: they keep routines, they keep their composure, and they keep their people company without demanding to be entertained. In a heritage house on Church Street or a new build in Aurora Trails, the pattern is the same: a sunny window, a short play session, a long nap, and a cat who is exactly where it wants to be.

Reserving From Aurora, Step by Step

Three steps, and Aurora families handle the first two from home. Here is the process, start to finish.

Step one: Available Kittens first

Start with our Available Kittens: if a kitten listed there is the one, reserve that kitten directly and there is nothing to wait for. The waitlist is the backup, for when no listed kitten fits or none is listed right now: a $500 CAD plus tax deposit ($565 CAD) puts your family in line, and waitlist families choose first from every future litter.

Step two: meet your kitten from home

Photo and video updates follow your kitten's growth from reservation onward, and we are glad to video call so you can see temperament for yourself. When you choose your kitten, the contract is signed with a 50 percent deposit.

Step three: the short trip home

The balance is due on go-home day. Aurora families can collect their kitten from our Toronto cattery in person, or have delivery arranged north on the 404. Either way your kitten arrives with the complete veterinary file, ready for your own Aurora veterinarian to continue.

The Colours We Breed

Our specialty is the golden shaded family, bred in both the Shorthair and Longhair coats: golden shaded, warm and green-eyed; blue golden shaded, a cooler silver-blue; and lilac golden shaded, the rarest of the three. Point colour litters add blue-eyed kittens in golden shaded point, blue golden shaded point, lilac golden shaded point and silver shaded point. If your search was British Longhair kittens Aurora with a shade already chosen, tell us when you reserve or join the waitlist.

First Week Home in Aurora

Start in one quiet room, litter, the food your kitten knows, fresh water and a scratcher, and open the house gradually over the first days. Kittens raised underfoot arrive confident, and Aurora families usually report a kitten exploring the whole house within the week. Book a first vet visit in the opening weeks so records transfer cleanly.

The whole grooming program

Brush a Shorthair once a week, a Longhair two or three times a week, check nails every few weeks, and keep fresh water down. That is genuinely the entire routine, for a cat who will look like a show photograph on an ordinary Tuesday in Aurora.
