British Shorthair Kittens for Sale in Waterloo, Ontario

Waterloo thinks in documentation. This is the city of the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier, of the Perimeter Institute and a tech corridor that grew out of BlackBerry's hometown: a city of engineers, researchers and young families in Beechwood, Laurelwood, Clair Hills and the condos around Uptown who read the fine print before they buy anything. Searches for kittens for sale in Waterloo and British Shorthair kittens in Waterloo return plenty of listings, but very few come with pedigrees, genetic testing and a written guarantee. CatKing Cattery raises British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens in Toronto, an easy run west along the 401, and delivers to Waterloo families who want the verified version of this breed.

A File That Passes a Waterloo Inspection

CatKing is a TICA, CFA & WCF registered cattery and a legally registered Ontario corporation. Our breeding cats are genetically tested, and our cats hold titles from international shows. Every kitten is raised underfoot in our home, examined twice by our veterinarian, vaccinated with two FVRCP core vaccines and dewormed before go-home day, and placed with TICA registration, 30 days of pet insurance and lifetime breed-related genetic disease protection. For a city that reviews specifications for a living, the comparison with an undocumented listing tends to be short.

Tech-Town Life With an Indoor Cat

British cats are indoor cats with a temperament built for Waterloo working life: quiet on video calls, unbothered by a home office in a Vista Hills new-build, and equally content in an Uptown condo or a Westmount family house. They are affectionate without being demanding, which suits households where the day runs on calendars. The Shorthair's dense, plush coat asks for one brushing a week; the Longhair's longer coat takes a few short sessions, ideally at a window with a view over Waterloo Park.

Reserving From Waterloo

Waterloo is close enough that reserving never feels long-distance: you choose from home, follow your kitten's growth, and go-home day is a straightforward trip along the 401. Here is how the steps run.

Step one: Available Kittens first

Begin with our Available Kittens: if a kitten there is the one, reserve that kitten directly. If none is available, or none fits your family, join the waitlist for a future litter with a $500 CAD plus tax deposit ($565 CAD); waitlist families choose first from upcoming litters, before any kitten is listed publicly.

Then: updates, contract and the short trip home

Photo and video updates follow your kitten from reservation to go-home day, and we are glad to video call so you can judge temperament yourself. When you choose, a signed contract and 50 percent deposit hold your kitten, the balance is due on go-home day, and you can collect your kitten from our Toronto cattery in person or have delivery arranged to your door in Waterloo.

Your Kitten's First Week in Waterloo

Start in one quiet room with litter, the food your kitten already knows, fresh water and a scratching post, then open the home room by room. Because our kittens grow up underfoot, the soundtrack of a Waterloo household, doorbells, dishwashers, a standup meeting drifting in from the next room, is familiar from day one, and most families have a settled kitten within the week. We send the complete veterinary file with your kitten, and a first visit to your Waterloo veterinarian in the opening weeks keeps the record continuous.

Registration and the spay/neuter agreement

Every kitten is TICA registered. Pet kittens go home under our spay and neuter agreement: the procedure is done by your own veterinarian before eight months of age, you send us the certificate, and we remind you well ahead of the deadline. For Waterloo families it is one routine appointment, handled like every other item on the kitten's file.

Golden shaded, blue golden shaded and lilac golden shaded, all with green eyes, are the colours our lines are known for, in both Shorthair and Longhair coats. Point colour litters add blue-eyed kittens in golden shaded point, blue golden shaded point, lilac golden shaded point and silver shaded point. If your search was cat breeder Waterloo, British Longhair kittens Kitchener-Waterloo or kittens for sale in Waterloo Ontario, tell us your colour and coat when you join the waitlist and we will match litters to it. Waterloo families who plan a season ahead rarely wait long.
