British Shorthair Kittens for Sale in Kansas City

Kansas City straddles two states, and so does its kitten search: families in Overland Park and Leawood are looking for the same documented British kittens as families in the Northland and Lee's Summit. CatKing Cattery raises British Shorthair and British Longhair kittens in Toronto, in golden shaded and point colour, and delivers to Kansas City homes on both sides of the line.

Two States, One Standard

Wherever home is, your kitten comes from a TICA, CFA & WCF registered cattery with genetically tested parents and international show titles in its lines. Every kitten is examined twice by our veterinarian and goes home with two FVRCP core vaccines, internal and external deworming, TICA registration, 30 days of pet insurance and lifetime breed-related genetic disease protection. That is the file that matters, and it does not change at the state line.

A Midwestern Cat for a Midwestern City

British cats are steady, friendly and unpretentious, which is a fair description of Kansas City itself. They are indoor cats, content through humid summers and cold winters alike, happy in a Brookside bungalow or a Johnson County family home. The Shorthair's plush coat needs a weekly brush; the Longhair's flowing coat, a few short sessions. Both are gentle with kids and patient with the family dog, and both will supervise barbecue season from the screen door with great seriousness.

What Kansas City families ask

  • Do you deliver to both Kansas and Missouri sides? Yes, delivery is arranged to the Kansas City area and coordinated with you.
  • Can I follow my kitten before go-home day? Yes, with regular photo and video updates from reservation onward.
  • How do I get first choice of a litter? Join the waitlist; waitlist families select before kittens are listed publicly.

Reserve Your Kitten

Reserving starts with our Available Kittens: if a kitten there is the one, reserve that kitten directly, on either side of the state line. If the kitten you want is not there, join the waitlist for a future litter: the waitlist deposit is $500 CAD plus tax ($565 CAD), and waitlist families select first from upcoming litters. When you choose your kitten, a signed contract and 50 percent deposit reserve them, the balance is due on go-home day, and photo and video updates follow your kitten from reservation until you meet.

Your Kitten's First Week in Kansas City

Start your kitten in one room with litter, food, water and a scratching post, then open the house gradually. Raised underfoot in our cattery, our kittens arrive comfortable with family life, and Kansas City families generally have a settled kitten within the week. We send the complete veterinary file, and your vet, on either side of the state line, can continue the vaccine and care plan from the first visit.

Care through a Kansas City year

The routine barely changes with the seasons: fresh water, daily short play sessions, and brushing, weekly for a Shorthair, a few times a week for a Longhair. In summer humidity, your cat will pick the coolest floor in the house; in winter, the sunniest window. British cats do not need outdoor time, special equipment or complicated care, which leaves more of the weekend for the things Kansas City does best, and your cat will supervise all of it from the sofa.

Families with acreage in Parkville or older homes in Midtown get the same cat: an indoor companion with a show pedigree and a house cat's heart.

The spay/neuter agreement, plainly

Pet kittens go home under our spay and neuter agreement: your own veterinarian does the procedure before eight months, you send us the certificate, and the TICA registration papers follow. We remind families well before the deadline. Kansas City vets handle it every day, and the paperwork on our side is one email. Breeding placements are rare, separate and selective.

Whether the search that brought you here was British Shorthair kittens Kansas City or a British Shorthair breeder near Kansas City, the next step is the same: check our Available Kittens first, and if the kitten you want is not there, join the waitlist and tell us your colour.

If you join the waitlist for a future litter, the waitlist deposit is $500 CAD plus tax ($565 CAD). When you choose your kitten, a signed contract and 50 percent deposit reserve them, and the balance is due on go-home day. Our colours: golden shaded, blue golden shaded and lilac golden shaded with green eyes, plus blue-eyed point colour kittens. Searches like kittens in Kansas City, cat breeder Kansas City and British Longhair kittens Missouri all start in the same place: our Available Kittens page.
